Beat Of The Earth - Self Tittled - 1967

Here is yet another album from legendary psych
musician Phil Pearlman. This is the second known album
that he released and it is completely unstructured and improvised!
He just got a few musicians together, rented a studio,
then they all just jammed over the course of two sessions.
All of this was done as some sort of 'Art Project'
for the collage he was attending and I think it's safe to say
that he most likely got an A, heh.

The weird thing about Phil's albums is that
as amazing as all of them are, they were almost
completely unknown until about twenty years
after they were recorded and they've been slowly
gaining in popularity every since. Chances are,
most people won't even hear about him until
years after he's dead! But, it was the same with
most of the world's greatest artists.

There are only two tracks on this,
both a about twenty-one minutes long
and have the same tittle, but are taken from
different sessions. If you need structure in your music,
this is not the album for you, but if you're into
primal, seemingly spiritual and completely improvised
jam sessions that cause a feeling of a higher unity
between all things in existence, then this IS for you!
This album really is an artistic statement.

Yes, it took me a while to find this album too. That's why I uploaded as soon as I did. You're welcome and thanks to those that uploaded it before me.

Dear Chase.\!/// This is the Lead Guitarist Guitarist and the True founder of THE BEAT OF THE EARTH sending you this message-Iam 65 years old now- but I was 18 then. "Dreamppe88@yahoo.com" Please--Contact Me..I have a lot tosay--and a lot to tell--I want to fill the world in on all of the TRUE facts, not Karens' --(She actually was not a member of the Band-and did not show-up for the recordings-we did them all withought her)---and Sherry Phillips was a dancer supporter along with her husband who played the Recorder Flute and Tambourine-while he played the flutr---She played the Tambourine--they were both just really far out HIPPIES. As for me--I was Lead Guitarist in the House Band for the Famous old "Marina Palace"-formerly known as the Airport Club on Hwy. 101 in Seal Beach, Ca. My Band was "The Drainpipe" and we alternated some times with Mary Butterworth Hot Sauce, and Boston Tea Party--then several others --to include Alice Kooper, and "MOTLEY CRUE" whowere also hailing from Downey Calif. where we all knew each other and Rivaled for Gigs as I was in "The SKYWRITERS" backthen, and soon to follow--"K.M. & The Martrys" ( Kenny Macko Vocalisist who's brother Denny Macko starred with Bruce Dern in the Motion Picture movie "The Driver" post 70's And I actually was hired by Vince Neil--at my house in Downey to play Lead guitar stand -in for them at an outdoor backyard party gig for which I earned $ 50.00 for that night--and that was a good sum of money! Inthose days. So Iwas giggin' at the Marina Palace at the same time that I started up THE BEAT OF THE EARTH _ it was My Idea---and a collaboration between me and Phil whom could not play a guitar. He just strummed it--out of tune by a mile----I was working a lot with drop D tuning but tuned to an open D and showed him how" Any body can play this way!" And He was hooked---instead of just sitting there like an vegetable every day and night there at 23RD St. in Newport Beach--we actually photographed the Album Cover inmy front yard(which was technically Phls' backyard( that he turned into a veggy garden in my front yard after he moved into the small house in front of mine. And please --let it be known--that I Was most deffinetly no a "Valley Boy Lowrider" as Karen stated..on the contrary I was an Hippie-Surfer and an competition rider for the CHOBINS Newport Beach Chapter-and once won my heat( 5th rider) against the "Wind & Sea" surf club,San Diego;Ca. Iam trying to get back in touch with Phil Pearlman as I haven't been in contact with him since the late 60's-did not know that he released the 2nd album--would really like to talk to HIM as I haven'T been paid anything for my free form effort's. Radish Records was his---and most of the vocal was performed by Him and Our Recording Engineer--" Joe Sidore " who is also a legendary engineer of Glen Cambells' " Rhinestone Cowboy " album following ours. Anyway --Please contact me....there is so much more.... Sincerely, J.R. Nichols Guitarand Lead Vocalist for " The Quirk Band @ Youtube.com"
